This is cold-brewed
coffee.
That means this coffee has
been hand-brewed using cold
water and a french press.
It’s been brewing for 10 hours
to ensure the extremely smooth
taste and low acid levels.
I recommed you to
drink this
coffee cold and it
should be
served with ice.
If wanted, you
can sweeten it up
with some syrup,
or make it smoother with just a
little milk.
Let yourself enjoy this full-bodied
coffee with cocoa notes and
delicate hints of vanilla, and be cool.
You deserve this.
Do you feel like drinking filter coffee on hot summer days, but it's just too hot, as you're sweating out already? If you love coffee as much as I do, here's the solution for you. This is the perfect option for hot summer days, when you need coffee and a cooling drink at the same time.
So what is cold brew? Well, you probably red that one out from the top text already (which I actually wrote for a bottle of cold brew we gave as a gift in a housewarming party yesterday). But if you didn't, it's basically a coffee that is made by brewing the coffee in cold water for at least 8 hours to ensure the smooth taste.
You may know iced coffee better than cold brew? The main difference between these two is actually the temperature. As Ice coffee is made hot and cooled down after, cold brew is brewed cold and never heated.
Sinä tarvitset: / You need:
- Pressopannu / a French press
- Keittiövaaka / Kitchen scale
- 80-90 grammaa kahvia / 80-90 grams coffee
- 1l raikasta vettä / 1 liter of fresh water
Mittaa keittiövaa'an avulla pressopannuun n.80 grammaa haluamaasi suodatinkahvia. Me käytettiin Löfbergs:in Magnifika -kahvia, josta tykätään molemmat tosi paljon.
8 tunniksi.
Measure 80 grams of coffee to the french press with the kitchen scale. (It's best if your coffee grind's ideal for a french press but it's not necessary.) After that pour 1 liter of fresh water over the coffee making sure that it reaches everywhere. Stir a little to make sure all the grounds are moistened. We managed to pour just 1 liter into our french press (almost caused a flood) so depending on the size of your french press, add/decrease the amount of coffee and water. Then place the top of the french press on, but do not press it down. Let it stand in fridge/room temperature for at least 8 hours. Have patience. We like to do this just before we go to sleep and then enjoy it on the next day.
In the morning (or after you've patiently waited) press down, pour into a beautiful glass, serve with ice and enjoy. If you want, you can use some syrup to make it sweeter, or make it softer with a little milk.
