Vaikka nykyään keitämme useimmiten suodatinkahvit aamuisin, on Nespresso jäänyt käyttöön varsinkin viikonloppuaamuihin.
/ I simply do not start without getting coffee. That's why it's extremely important to me, that on the mornings when I'm too tired to even open my eyes I get coffee by simply pushing one button on my Nespresso machine. We got the Nespresso few years ago when I had to get up to work 4.20am and I just didn't feel like making filter coffee at that time in the morning (or night) so I loved the idea of getting good coffee (in my opinion) - fast. The Nespresso machine has worked perfectly for us. Even though we nowadays usually brew filter coffee in the mornings, the Nespresso inissia has stayed. It brings nice luxury to weekend mornings and I feel like I'd have a café in my own kitchen. Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso - what would you like?
Some time ago I saw these ''coffee station'' pictures on Pinterest and I immediately had to get one myself. I felt like there was not enough space anyway for the machine on the kitchen levels, so I made us our very own coffee station. There's everything nicely on the same tray and there's an easy spot to make any kind of coffee you'd like. Also, it frees space for the other person to use the kitchen levels for breakfast making.
/ We both love strong coffee but we usually make milk coffees with the Nespresso. That's why we usually choose the strongest capsules to take home, as they suit perfectly with foamed milk. Sometimes we also buy the perfect capsules for the moments when you want something extra good and sweet. At the moment we have the Vanilio -capsules (where you can find hints of vanilla) and also the Caramelito capsules (where you can find hints of caramel) and they're perfect as a dessert coffee!
The only thing that I'm a bit disappointed about is that I didn't find out enough about the milkfrother. We are using the Aeroccino+ -foamer (which we got as a christmas gift) which has two different whisks and it makes warm, foamed milk with just one button. Even though I have tried different milks, and I only use (nowadays) the whisk that makes thinner foam, every single time the milk ends up being in ''two layers''. There's super liquid milk on the bottom of the foamer jug, and just a lump of super thick foam on the surface and they do not mix together (which would create the perfect still easily pouring foam). I have tried every hack I know for that. I was wishing to continue doing latte art at home (even though I don't work in a café anymore) and I wanted to drink lattes with hearts - that's exactly why I chose the Aeroccino+ as it has a spout. After all trying I think that it's impossible to make/pour latte art with it, maybe because you don't foam the milk by hand and maybe because of the design of the jug. I refuse to believe that I just couldn't do it, because I dit it well when working.
I just noticed that Nespresso has a new Aeroccino4 foamer, which has a lot sharper spout - I don't know if that would be better. I can't afford buying another one just to try.
I am a coffee lover!
And I still get my latte art when going out for a coffee.
